Born and raised in Missouri, I moved to Texas as fast as I could! I grew up in a small farming community and attended Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri. I received my bachelor's degree in Deaf Education. Over the last 22 years I have taught in Richardson ISD, Joplin Schools in Joplin, MO, Plano ISD, and 14 years here in Lovejoy ISD. I have taught hearing impaired children pre-k through 5th grade, Reading Recovery, Reading and Writing Instructional coach, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 3rd, 4th, and 5th Integrated Studies for the Gifted and Talented. For the past three years, I have taught 5th grade Social Studies, and I am excited to teach the same this year.
I have a wonderful husband who is a teacher as well and two children- Ian who attends school here in LISD, and Sarah, who will be attending Maryland Institute and College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland as a freshman. We spend much of our time attending our children's activities and sports. When I have a bit of free time, I love to watch Cardinal baseball, decorate my home and flower beds, bake and decorate cakes, and read, read, read!
