Courtney Holland

Welcome to 5th grade!  I'm excited to get to know my Sloan Creek students and families. 
 
I have numerous years of experience in teaching in a variety of grade levels.  I joined Lovejoy in 2015 after spending about eleven years in the Charlotte, NC area.  While my family loved living near the mountains and beaches of the Carolinas, we are thrilled to be back close to family in the Dallas area. I have two children, Drew and Avery, who are both Lovejoy Leopards and a dog, Charlie.  
 
I got my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  After graduating, I began my teaching career in Richardson ISD and taught at the elementary level for six years.  While working in RISD, I obtained my gifted certification and ESOL certification.  In 2004, my family moved to Charlotte, NC.  While in North Carolina, I taught 7th-grade math and algebra, as well as, elementary grades. 
 
I love teaching 5th graders, and I'm so happy to get to teach my favorite subject, Math, all day!  My goal is to make my students' learning experience fun and engaging so that they enjoy math and have a memorable 5th-grade year!
