About Me

My name is Nancy Wojcik and I am a 6th grade ELAR teacher at Sloan Creek Intermediate School.  Like the saying goes, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could."  I am a Midwesterner by birth - a Chicago-area native to be exact.   We moved to Texas in June 2014 as a result of my husband's job transfer.  My husband and I have been married for more than 29 years and have three children.
I am a graduate of Purdue University. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication with a minor in English. I have been in the classroom since 2005.  Prior to earning my teaching credentials, I worked with exceptional children including those on the autism spectrum, those with emotional disabilities and those with learning disabilities.  Before my teaching career, I worked for a federal agency in Chicago for more than 18 years.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to work at Sloan Creek.  I look forward to working with your children and preparing them for the next stage in their lives.
Class resources will be located in the Google classroom.
Tutoring will begin on September 19 - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:50 - 3:30.
While this calendar is labeled "ELAR Wojcik 8/9" the majority of the assignments will be the same for all of my classes. Students, all of the dates for assignments and tests will be populated to your Google Calendar.
