About Ms. Kimbrough

Hello 5th grade Sloan Creek Leopards!  Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

 

I am so excited to be your 5th grade Science teacher!  My name is Michelle Kimbrough and I started working in LoveJoy in 2017. I grew up in Plano, Texas and graduated High School from Plano Senior High School.  I graduated from Texas Tech University. “Go Red Raiders” and taught in Lubbock, Texas for 25 years.    I love working for LISD and at SCIS. There is nowhere else I would rather be working.

I have 3 amazing children. Shea, Taylor and Clay.  They are grown and very independent. I am excited to be living so close to them.

For 5th grade science, students will be in my class for about 70 minutes a day.  During class time we will review and build on past concepts while introducing new concepts in Science. Students will become familiar with working in Google Classroom and STEMscopes. This is the first year that science will be state tested.  This will take place during the May STAAR Test.

My Hobbies include traveling, reading, riding my Peloton, and spending time with friends and family. I hope to inspire and develop a passion for science in my students along with having fun.
